About Hair Scripts

Telehealth hair loss treatment available in 48 states. Real clinicians, real conversations.

Why We Started

[FOUNDER STORY — Angie Edmund, FWTS, share what led you to found Hair Scripts. Your personal experience with hair loss and trichology, the gap you saw in telehealth hair care, and why you built a test-before-treat model.]

What We Believe

We built Hair Scripts around three convictions that set us apart from every other hair loss platform on the internet.

1. Test before you treat.

Roughly 30–50% of people don't respond to standard minoxidil because their scalp doesn't produce enough of the enzyme needed to activate it.[1] Prescribing it anyway — without knowing — wastes your money and your time. We built the Hair Scripts Response Test so you know your enzyme status before your first dose.

2. Real clinicians, not chatbots.

Every intake is reviewed by a licensed trichologist and overseen by our medical director. No algorithm approves your prescription. No chatbot answers your questions. A real person who understands hair loss sees your photos, reads your history, and writes your plan.

3. Honest expectations.

Hair restoration takes months, not days. You'll likely see reduced shedding in 2–3 months and visible regrowth in 4–6 months or more — if you respond to treatment.[2] We tell you that upfront, and we adjust your plan if it's not working.

How We're Different

Hair Scripts isn't the first telehealth hair loss company. But we do things the others don't.

  • We test SULT1A1 enzyme activity first. Hims, Roman, and Keeps prescribe minoxidil to everyone. We find out if your body can actually use it before you spend a dollar on it.
  • We use licensed trichologists. Trichology is the specialist field of hair and scalp science. Most platforms use general practitioners reviewing standardized questionnaires. We use specialists.
  • No forced subscriptions. We believe in earning your continued care. You're never locked into a plan. You can pause, adjust, or stop at any time.

Our Commitment to Evidence

Every medical claim on this site is cited to peer-reviewed literature or established clinical guidelines. We do not make unsubstantiated promises about outcomes. Our Editorial Guidelines govern how we write about hair loss, what evidence thresholds we require, and how we distinguish between established science and emerging research.

Location & Licensing

Hair Scripts operates as a licensed telehealth practice serving patients in 48 states. Our clinicians are licensed in the states we serve and can prescribe to patients located in those states at the time of their consultation. We are not yet available in Alaska or Hawaii.
